National Leadership Academy
OVERVIEW
The 7 Generations Behavioral Health Center of Excellence supports a range of behavioral health professionals in building their areas of expertise and thought leadership to enhance their influence and reputation in the national tribal behavioral health community.
The Leadership Academy is offered annually, and program participants’ leadership journeys include in-person experiential learning, online/virtual training opportunities, mentorship, coaching and peer-support. The program uses a strengths-based approach to cultivate effective leaders to foster a culture of support and empathy where individuals feel valued, respected, and understood. Through a ‘coaching up for success’ model, participants will have ample opportunity to enhance their skills, competence, and confidence in safe and supportive environment to lead change and promote healthy communities.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS & TIME COMMITMENT (vary by targeted cohort)
Participation in the Leadership Academy requires attendance at four in-person 2.5 days experiential learning workshops to be held at various locations throughout the U.S. In addition, the program requires a combination of professional development opportunities and includes:

APPLICATION PROCESS
The First Leadership Academy launched on November 19-21, 2024, with a kick -off event held in Tucson, AZ.
2026 Leadership Academy application process is now open.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
18 years or older
Full or part-time employee of an organization/agency offering behavioral health services
Minimum of ten years’ experience in the behavioral health field
Timely submission of application materials
